Dubai Desert Safari Adventure An Unforgettable Arabian Journey

Hello, fellow wanderers! Today, I'm taking you on an exciting journey into the heart of the Arabian Desert. Welcome to the land of mesmerizing landscapes, the smell of barbecue over open flames, and the unforgettable experiences - Dubai Desert Safari!

Arrival & Timings
We kicked off our adventure at around 3:30 pm. Most desert safaris in Dubai start in the afternoon to maximize your experiences and to conclude with the spectacle of the desert sunset. Although the exact timings can slightly vary, the pick-up typically takes place between 3:00 pm to 3:30 pm.

The Drive to the Desert
We were picked up from our hotel in a 4x4 Land Cruiser. The journey to the desert is as awe-inspiring as the safari itself, with the landscape gradually changing from cityscapes to barren desert dunes. About 45 minutes later, we were amidst the vast, red dunes of the Arabian desert.

Dune Bashing
On reaching the desert, our driver deflated the tires for what would be a thrilling experience of dune bashing. We held on tight as our 4x4 Land Cruiser skidded, slid, and sped over the dunes. It's an adrenaline rush of the best kind and lasts around 20 to 30 minutes.

Remember, all drivers are professionals with many years of experience, so you're in safe hands! Still, if you're not much of an adrenaline junkie, you can opt for a gentler ride.

Camel Trekking and Sunset
After the rollercoaster ride of dune bashing, we headed to the camel farm for a short camel ride. It's a fantastic opportunity to see these desert-adapted creatures up close and even take pictures with them.

As the sun began to set, we found the perfect spot to view the beautiful desert sunset. It's a sight you won't forget: the red and orange hues casting a glow over the desert, creating a tranquil and serene environment. It's a perfect time to capture some magnificent photographs.

The Desert Camp
As darkness fell, we reached the Bedouin-style desert camp. It's an entirely different world in there, complete with traditional Arabian carpets, low tables, and cushions for seating.

Entertainment & Activities
There's a lot to do once you reach the camp. You can try out traditional Arabian outfits for a photo op, get a beautiful henna tattoo, or simply relax and enjoy the atmosphere. The main attractions include Tanoura and Belly dance performances. The artists are incredibly talented, and their performances, vibrant and energetic, had us clapping along in no time.

In addition, the camp offers a quick session of sandboarding. If you've ever snowboarded, this will be an easy task. But even if you haven't, it's all in good fun!

Dinner
As the entertainment unfolds, a delicious buffet dinner is prepared. The spread typically includes a variety of Arabian dishes such as Shawarma, Falafel, Hummus, along with grilled meats, salads, and desserts. They also cater to vegetarian preferences. The aroma of the barbecue under the open sky adds to the ambience of the evening.

Ticket Prices
Ticket prices for this all-inclusive experience start from AED 150 ($40) and can go up to AED 350 ($95), depending on the package you choose. Some providers offer VIP packages that include private seating, priority in food service, and other perks.

Return to the Hotel
Post dinner, we made our way back to the city. We were dropped off at our hotel at around 9:00 pm, marking the end of a remarkable journey that offered a delightful glimpse into the Arabian culture and desert life.

Dubai Desert Safari is more than just a tour; it's an immersive experience that combines thrill, culture, and a whole lot of fun. So, next time you're in Dubai, make sure to add this adventure to your itinerary.

Until next time, keep wandering and keep wondering!
